DO samples are analyzed using a Metler Toledo DL 50 in a period no longer than 24 hours after sampling. The samples are acidified with 10 N sulfuric acid and allowed to stand for one hour to dissolve the precipitate. Thiosulfate solution (0.01 N) is standardize with a potassium iodate standard solution (0.01 N). Samples are titrated with the thiosulfate solution in duplicates. The DO is calculated using the equations of Strickland and Parson (1972). |
